Meanwhile, we continue having fun with Magento. Sometimes developers' comments appear to be a cry from the depths. Never mind, that's the way it goes.

Installing a new theme on Magento

Taras:
“Well, what can I say... It screwed my brains. I've downloaded Magento 2.0.4, it's a new version, so the tutorials are only available for the older ones. “So be it,” I thought, “I can do it on my own.” But no! It wasn't that easy. It took me half an hour to get to the layout, what a level of nesting. Styles, scripts, and fonts, templates are all separated. I've tried 'find in path.' Yeah, right. Another half an hour went by until I found how to connect a style and then a menu. In a nutshell, XML templates, that's crap.  Let's call it a day. ”

Vitalik:
“We were installing a theme...We haven't installed the theme. At least we didn't have to reinstall Ubuntu.”

Andriy:
“Everything is quite complicated. I have been trying to install a theme for two hours.  Detailed documentation is a plus.”

Tanya:
“The next step was to install a theme since it wasn't in the downloaded package. Don't make that mistake!”
Two hours of close cooperation with Google haven't brought any results. There's a lot of information on how to create a new theme, but I wanted to upload and install a ready-made and free one. That was the second mistake. It turned out to be not that easy. Dash it all! I was about to reinstall Magento with a standard theme. Two hours were wasted” :(
