Do We Need Comments on a Site?

Добро пожаловать в реальную жизнь! Она довольно паршивая, но ты втянешься! © "Друзья"

Surveys among Internet users show that 70% of website visitors pay attention to the comments and reviews by other users. For most of them, the decision whether to buy or not is influenced by these feedbacks. We can even single out the areas that depend on the users' reviews to a great extent. These are mainly e-commerce projects,  HoReCa sector and everything related to tourism.

Actually, it seems logical, since neither right conditions, nor low prices, nor a perfect website can guarantee a customer an adequate purchase or service. There might be a number of details that affect the final result. For example, late delivery, low quality of goods, poor service and so on. The comments left by real users can reassure a customer that the store is reliable and the store can gain the credibility.

The comments can be negative, but it's not a reason to remove them. The store managers should answer to a dissatisfied customer, or it would be even better if they write that the problem has been solved (if it has been really fixed). This will demonstrate the other customers that you do not get rid of negative comments about your company and products but steadily work on service improvements and handling unpredicted situations.

As for me, the comments on a website can play both positive and negative role. Before coming to a decision about adding a comment section to your site, think if your target audience will leave the comments.Very ofter we can see this section empty and, believe us, it won't encourage your customers to order a product or a service from you. Comments require constant work and control since you have to suggest leaving comments. The best way to do this is to send your clients an email after they had some time to use the product or a service and to ask for a comment. Customers usually write negative comments on themselves rather than leave a positive comment when everything's fine. If you're not ready to put in your time, you'd better leave this section out and focus on other useful functions of your website.

Let’s fill the brief, shall we?
