It's time to reinstall Ubuntu. You'll find the latest version of Ubuntu here. And the first question is which one to download. I know which one, and you? The article looks at the Ubuntu installation and configuration. In other words, everything that a webmaster needs.

Many beginners, and not only them, confuse i386 and amd64 in names of .ISO files, so let's figure out what they mean.
i386 (also IA-32, x86, i386, i486, i586, i686) refers to the 32-bit platforms but also can be installed on the 64-bit systems. This version is mainly used for the older and low-power computers.
amd64 (also Intel 64, EM64T, IA-32e, x86_64, x86-64, x64) refers to 64-bit platforms. Processor architecture was first developed by AMD; that's why many manufacturers, including Ubuntu, continue using this conventional terminology.
It's worth mentioning that i386 supports up to 4GB of RAM, while amd64 supports 16TB.
Lastly, new Intel processors i3,i5,i7 are all 64-bit so you can install amd64.
